February 26th 2011

Pyjama party with lots of movies and snacks. Yeah we're food scientists not nutritionists we do eat empty calories sometimes :)

February 25th 2011

Went bowling, not the worst game of my life so I was proud of myself.
Had a talk with a drunk Peruvian woman. It was fun to talk to her and take her advise in "love" matters.
Now the picture is a link t my friend's facebook who also keeps a 365 journal. So you might or might not be able to see the picture. I did not have my camera...

February 24th 2011

A poem I wrote in Arabic :)

February 23rd 2011

I actually forgot to take a picture... but I did cook Riz 3a Djej
The picture is from a website that has many good Lebanese and other Arabic recipes.

My recipe though is:

Cut 2 onions into 6 parts start by frying them a bit in a pan add chicken (4 big legs)
Add cinnamon powder preferably or powder and stick. Add up to 2-3 spoons. Add salt.
When the chicken starts to get red, add water until all the chicken is covered with water.
Let it boil and reduce the heat.

Soak 1.5 cups of water.
When the chicken is almost done, remove some of the chicken broth and use it to cook the rice.

You can add some pine and almonds. Fry them with a bit of oil. Make sure you keep on mixing them because they will get burnt really quickly. When they start turning yellow, put the fire off. Move the nuts on a napkin to soak out the oil.

Decorate the rice with the chicken then the nuts

Enjoy!

Roses and chocolate make a girl very very very happy.

February 21st 2011

Peace dialogue with Dr. Geshe Dorjee (from Tibet) & Dr. Sidney Burris.
The talk was very interesting and we got to ask about ways to achieve inner peace and what peace means and how different people can contribute to peace the way they most feel comfortable with.
The picture is of students wearing traditional Tibetan clothes.

Another delicious recipe.

Start by warming up some oil/butter (2-3 spoons)
Add flour when the oil is warm enough until flour until it feels like a paste.
Remove from the fire and start adding milk while mixing until you have a creamy liquid sauce.
Add salt, pepper, ginger to taste.

In another pan, fry 5 ground garlic cloves add salt and dried ground min leaves (or basilica leaves).
You can add mushrooms.
Add salmon chunks.
Better use a wide pan and cook until the fish is almost ready.
Add the white sauce and mix well on very low fire for one minute.

Enjoy with angel hair pasta or tagliatelle.
